By the time evening came, Jennifer got away from her mom, and had a chance for Karyn to take her to her house, Jennifer was getting pretty tired of being a girl.
If she hadn't been pretty tired of it already.
It had been a complicated week and a half. The first really bad wish had been the one that accidentally made Jon a crossdresser. Jennifer had never quite fixed that, but all she really needed to do was wish it away. "I wish that when Mom caught me in her clothes, the reason she thought it was normal wasn't that I'm a crossdresser, but rather that she magically didn't notice the clothes and just thought I was dressed like I usually am."
"Maybe you should have done that before," said Karyn.
"Yeah, it's too bad neither of us thought of it. So all this time she's been trying to get me to do girls' stuff because she thinks I liked it. She even stopped me so you'd spill milk on me, just so I had to wear your clothes..."
"Yeah, sorry about that," said Karyn, unlocking her door. "Anyway, we're here. Just step inside. You should stop being a girl once you're inside my place."
There were some other wishes, but most of them didn't have an effect once Jon's mother didn't think he was a crossdresser. Jon's mother wished he didn't have to hide transgender feelings--if he didn't have any, he certainly didn't need to hide them.
Jennifer stepped through the doorway... and instantly changed back to Jon. The limit on Karyn's wish had worked.
"I'm a guy!" he yelled.
"You don't look it," said Karyn. "You have guys' clothes now, but you've still got a female body shape. I think your Mom wished you to change shape."
"Yeah, I think so. I sort of remember it--I didn't notice it as it happened, but now that I think about it I really have changed a lot." (Author's note: since Jon's clothes didn't shrink with him, the stone obviously didn't change reality so Jon had been shrunken all along.) "I wish that my shrinkage was followed by growth that would return me to normal in the next minute, and that nobody else would notice it."
"Whew," said Karyn. "That stone is so dangerous." She watched as Jon regained his height, his chest stopped being puffy...
"But," said Jon, placing his hand on his face while his features slowly became more masculine, "even when it seems like things are messed up beyond all repair, they might not be. I'm glad I was able to fix everything." He walked over to a hall mirror and looked in it. "I'm glad everything is back to normal."
"Me too," said Karyn. "Maybe someday you can even fix my hair and breasts...."
Needless to say, everything wasn't back to normal. Jon had missed one wish, because he had never heard it. "I wish you find the right man to get married to and have several children." And even though Jon was otherwise just like he had been before, the stone's wishes always come true....
