As the mother picked up the wishing rock she said, "I wish I had a daughter instead of a son."
Looking up the mother said, "Julia, come back here and help. You knock this lady's purse from her hand."
Jennifer was glad that the mother, and everyone else, accepted that the boy, Joseph, was now, and always had been a girl named Julia.
Before the mother handed the rock over to Jennifer, she added, "I wish she grows out of her tomboy phase soon. It isn't right for a young lady to act like she does."
'I guess Julia will be a good girl from now on.' Jennifer thought as she stuffed her birth control pills and two spare tampons back into her fanny pack.
