Karyn ran home, near dragging Jon along. Jon had a bit of a baffled look on her face, but went a long with it. She trusted Karyn; they had been friends for a while, Kayrn being a year older and a single grade higher only meant that they didn't see each other as often.
"Karyn! Why are we running?"
Karyn's answer was a bit winded. She slowed a little, but kept moving. "Your shirt, Jon. Look at it."
Jon looked down. Her top had large dog footprints on it, as if her dog, Champion, had lept on her as she had left her house. But she hadn't been home in hours and this mud was still wet. How was that possible? Had Ralph seen her like this? He had been looking away a lot! Maybe...
"How?"
"The wishing stone. When I made the wish to keep [mom from what?], I wished for you to look like a girl from school, clothes and all. I must have copied Shannon exactly and it's still coping her. And the first thing I do when my shirt is dirty..."
Jon's shirt suddenly disappeared, as 2 miles away, Shannon took her muddy shirt off. Jon now appeared exactly as Shannon looked, pink capris, white flats, and just a bra.
