Karyn and Jon weren't the only ones getting a wardrobe change. Both Leonard and Yuki had gym that period...although totally separate gym classes.
Yuki finished her gym class and returned to her gym locker. The clothes she had left in the locker had been extremely plain. A skirt, a white shirt...almost like a school uniform. It was what her father currently insisted on. But what she pulled out was a pair of tight jeans and a t-shirt...much like what many girls at the school wore, and slipped them on. There was also an iPhone in the locker she slipped into her bag, despite the fact she didn't own any sort of phone at all.
After gym, Leonard did something that most boys didn't after gym...he went to shower. After that, he headed toward his locker, where he found that a set of clean clothes had replaced the soiled ones he'd left behind.
They both met up in the hall, exiting the locker room at about the same time. Yuki smiled at him, and pulled his arm around her.
Then, Yuki noticed a blond girl across the hall, staring at them. "What is she looking at?" She whispered to Leonard in accented, but perfect English.
"Maybe she's jealous of how pretty you are," Leonard said.
Yuki blushed deeply.
Meanwhile, Karyn forced herself to look away. That was definitely new. Admittedly, they made a cute couple, but...
She paused, thinking. So far, the only thing she'd seen was everyone wearing nicer clothes. Did someone wish that people would do that? Why would anyone bother?"
