The Mirror, was like Black Mirror through a female snap chat filter, they sat and watched an episode play out where mating and dating was done through filters. A girl could be her most beautiful self with the filters, and see her self that way, but only her 1-1,000,000 match could also see her that way, and vice versa. It was an episode designed to play on a girls emotions, sense of self worth and beauty, and desire to find the prefect guy and it was very effective at all three. Dawn started hmming and hawing about how she wasn't curvy enough, and never felt like she "matched photoicly" with the guy she was with, how she never felt like she was enough. Jazmyn let Dawn run herself down a bit talking, because letting Dawn talk meant she didn't have to share the fact that she wasn't quite sure what being pretty even meant, if she even qualified for this conversation, but soon enough she found some instinct in her driving words of encouragement out of her mouth.
"I'd kill to have your confidence walking down the halls." Jazmyn said. " You may only have what you got, but you know how to use it."
Dawn perked up at this. "Thanks" and there was a real feeling of sisterhood between them as she said it, only broken by the light bulb that went off in Dawns mind.
"Then again, we can just change it all." Dawn was already up from the couch and moving towards the bedroom before Jaz could follow close enough to catch her, but Jaz knew what was on Dawns mind.
Jaz rushed after her friend, bumping into Mikayla on her way up the stairs, who had stuck her head out to see what the rushing was about, Jazmyn, rushed around her, yelling "Don't do it Dawn!"
Jaz arrived at the room to see Dawn with the box that held the stone, Mikayla was behind her, curious.
Jaz pleaded "Please not again!"
Dawn held the box out of reach. "Last time worked out pretty good!" Dawn noticed Mikayla " for both of you, actually"
"What's going on?" asked Mikayla intrusively.
Dawn, thinking she was doing good replied "what if I told you you used to be a nerd, but only got cute because I made your sister a cheerleader, would you want to go back?"
Mikayla looked confused "Are you saying you pulled strings on the squad"
Jazmyn ignored her little sister " I don't want any more changes, put it down."
Dawn " but you just said, you wished you were more confident...here it is." She felt the box grow warmer at the word wish.
Mikayla was losing the plot " Are their drugs in there?"
Jazmyn suddenly took notice of her sister. "what? NO." But it was too late
Mikayla had around turned around to tattle. "I'm telling mom!"
Suddenly the two girls were alone in the room, "Great....see what you did!"
Dawn smiled. "Don't worry I got this." She had the stone in her hand.
"I wish Mikayla wasn't going to tell on us."
A flash.
Suddenly the room was a lot pinker, Jasmine's hair a little lighter, and the noise from next door in Mikayla's room sounded a lot more like something Zoe would be playing.
