Meanwhile, the Romeo with the rock in his pocket looked across the hall. Continuing to think with his 16-year old hormones, he decided that instead of looking for a hot girl who had a nice personality, he'd find someone with a nice personality and wish they were a hot girl.

He spotted someone down the hall who fit the bill exactly. Jay Duncan. He was a nice guy...bit nerdy, smart. "I wish Jay Duncan would become a nice, pretty and outgoing girl, without changing personality or intelligence too much, and would be attracted to normal guys, not jerks."

He blinked, and when he looked back, there was a girl at Jay's locker. She wasn't Head Cheerleader hot, but she was up there. And she dressed fashionably, but not daringly the way Sarah did. He even noted her binder had sci-fi stickers on it. Even better, she still likes sci-fi.

He went over to her. "Oh...hi," she said, smiling in a friendly manner. "You sit in front of me in homeroom, right?"

He actually did...supposed he still did. "Yes. I was just wondering if maybe you wanted to get a slice of pizza after school."

She looked at him, sincerely. "Are you asking me out?"

"Umm...well, yeah."

She looked apologetic. "Well, we...don't know each other that well. You probably don't know, I have a boyfriend. You seem nice, and all, but..."

"How could you have a boyfriend?" he blurted out. She'd been a girl for ten seconds. How could someone have beaten him to her?

"What?" She said, confused.

"...I...umm...meant...How could I have not known?" He stumbled. "I'm sorry." Gosh, she's pretty, he thought.

"It's fine," she said, graciously. "I'll see you in class, okay?" She walked off.

Crushed as he was, it didn't occur to him to wish she was his. He sank against a wall. He'd just created what looked like the perfect girl. Smart, nice, into sci-fi, pretty(some of the nerdier kids in the school didn't pay much attention to appearance) and he couldn't have her. What's wrong with me?
