Barbara stirred with the sound of an alarm clock. She reached around and ended up knocking a cell phone off the nightstand. She sat up in bed and slid her feet onto the floor and paused. "Where am I?" She exclaimed.
She was in a strange apartment. Picking up the phone from the floor, she stopped the alarm. "How the hell did I get here?" She searched around, holding the phone. Bed, couch, clothes...all seemed normal. Then she caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror. "I'm..." she ran over to the mirror. It was her...but years younger, with longer hair.
She studied the wall. High school diploma from 5 years ago. College diploma in her name...only 2 years old. She checked the clock on the phone. The date was the same...but she...wasn't wearing a wedding ring. Had she wished Jack out of her life?
Across town, Sarah was dozing lightly. "See you tonight, sweetheart," Jack's voice said, heading toward the door.
