Biff Meadows slipped into the guidance counselor's office for his appointment. It was funny...he didn't recall clearly being told to go there. But he didn't think much of it.
Miss Lynch smiled at him. "We have the results of your standardized tests, Biff. And...well, I'm afraid you are going to have to be left back."
"What? I'm the Captain of the Football team..." he insisted.
"Your education is much more important than football, Biff. Your tests indicate you aren't even reading at a high school level. So, effective today...we're reassigning you to be with kids at your own level. I'll be escorting you over to Lake Point Elementary, where you'll be in Miss Warren's fifth grade class. We all think it is the best thing for you."
He stared at her. Was this some kind of joke?
