As Jaz contemplated her friends, Dawn called.

"Hello?" she asked hesitantly, still getting used to her new and higher voice.

"Hey girl, can I come over?"

"Sure, what's up?"

"I need a reason to come see my best friend?"

"Alright, see you in 15?"

"You got it," Jaz replied. Well that's gonna be interesting. She realized that she still had the stone, too, so maybe Jaz had already told Dawn about it if they were best friends. After finishing up in the bathroom, Jaz returned to her room and began looking around again. She opened her closet. Apparently, Jaz tended toward dresses and skirts over jeans. And the shoes...being a girl was clearly something that required higher maintenance. The wardrobe was dominated by black and lavender, seemingly like everything else in her new life.

Bored, Jaz decided to open Snapchat and scroll through the photos of her friends. It felt jarring because most of them were gender swap photos. Apparently, many of them had been using the filter she used and posted them. She recognized many of the faces from Jon's world and was able to use the names to match them to the people they had changed into. At least the names she recognized. Jaz didn't have the same friends as Jon.

She spotted a note from Buffie, complaining that the filter had made her look white, more like her dad than her mom. Jaz puzzled over that. She'd seen Biff's parents at school events, having been in the same classes as him on and off for some years. His mom was definitely white. She'd have to figure that one out. There was Dawn, commenting that her alter-ego didn't look so flattering either.

Had everyone who used this new filter changed without knowing it?

"Jaz! Jaz! Look at this!" Mikayla barged into her room unprompted. "Could you imagine if Sam were this hot as a girl? Maybe I'd actually date him." She showed Jazmyn a picture on her phone. It was a gender swap of someone named Sam, but all Jon could see was Sarah McMillan. "You don't think he hacked it to show him as really hot? I wouldn't put it past him."

"What's going on with this filter?" she asked her. "I mean...why is what you'd look like as a boy suddenly the hot thing?"

The other teen shrugged. "Why is anything a fad? Personally, I think there's some kind of randomizer in there where it throws in a curve. I mean, look at me," she said, showing a picture of Mikey. "I saw a few other strange ones in my feed. Can I see yours? If you did one. If not...can you?"

Jazmyn pulled up the "Jon" photo for her sister to see.

"Oh...he's kinda cute...in sort of an average way," she said. This gave Jazmyn a chance to really take Mikayla in. Her first impression was...pink. As much as she seemed to like black and lavender, Mikayla seemed to like pink and flowers. Average, huh? I wonder what Karyn thinks of this me, she thought to herself.

Just then, the doorbell rang. A few moments later, she heard her mother's voice call up. "Jazmyn, dear... Dawn is here."

She hurried downstairs, still mulling the average comment. Her mother was standing there, looking the same...physically. But she was dressed differently than she normally was for work. A bit more professional looking. Standing next to her was Dawn Duncan...blonde hair, athletic build, and looking at Jazmyn nervously for some reason. "Hey, girl," she said. She seemed worried about something.
