"How could I not remember wearing glasses?" She said to herself. She took them off for a second, watching the world blur, and then put them back on, then frowned again. Her face was naked, but she clearly remembered putting on makeup. She would rectify that right now. She reached into her bag, but couldn't find any makeup in it anywhere.
She turned, feeling confused and bewildered, and decided that it must be her imagination. She picked up her bag, which had been a purse, but morphed into a bookbag without her even realizing it, which she slung over her shoulder, and left the bathroom to head to class.
From a distance, her unknown tormentor watched. Slower is better, the tormentor decided.
Not far away, Jon and Karyn were discussing what to do about the missing stone. Sarah walked right by them going in the other direction and they did not even notice.
The tormentor turned their attention to Jon and Karyn. While it was nothing personal, looking for the stone might mean they interfered with the plan. There needed to be something that would distract, maybe actually be good for them.
