Jonnie didn't know why, but this all felt wrong. She looked down at the tampon in her hand as if she had never seen one before. But she had used them plenty of times, hadn't she? She shook her head in confusion. She had so many conflicting thoughts and feelings. What was happening to her?
Outside the restroom, Karyn waited for her friend to come back out. But then something seemed wrong. She couldn't quite put her finger on it, but it felt like something just wasn't right.
Around the corner, the phantom wisher snickered again. Sarah, the principal and the nurse, Jon, and now Karyn. Five down, many many more to go. The phantom wisher then turned around and headed down the hall to find more people to change.
