"Yeah," said Jonnie. "You may be right. So I need to be careful. I just wish that this was a co-ed school and then you and I would have boyfriends to protect us."
"Jonnie!" Karyn heard the wish and turned to her best friend, waiting for the flash of bright light that seemed to always come after a wish. Suddenly it came and things were different. The school was back to normal--almost.
In order for Jonnie to get her wish without reversing Mrs. Robinson's, Mrs. Robinson disappeared and reappeared at a girls' school five miles away. Then everything changed back to how it was before... except that Jonnie was still female and she and Karyn had boyfriends.
Jonnie looked around. "Wait, that's not right..." She pointed to a men's bathroom, and to a sign that no longer said "Vote Andrea". "We're in a co-ed school!"
"Is there something about this stone which makes people likely to say the words 'I wish'?" wondered Karyn. "I suppose we have boyfriends now. I wonder who they are."
