J. J. knew that the day had started terribly and hopped that things would get better.

They didn't.

Everyone was treating him like he was Jennifer, even calling him Jennifer, no matter how often he tried to tell them that he preferred to be called J. J. And J. J. could think of nothing short of telling him that he was really a guy dressing as girl, and he was sure that would only be worse.

The only good thing was that Clyde and his friends left J. J. and Karyn alone.

J. J. was more than happy when the last bell of the day rang and he and Karyn could go home. After spending far too much 'girl' time with female class mates, Karyn and J. J. managed to leave everyone else behind and make the trip to J. J.'s home.

"I am going to find my wishing stone and wish this problem away." J. J. announced. "Come and help me look for it, please."

Karyn had been more than pleased to have Jennifer as her best friend rather than J. J. It wasn't, she admitted to herself, that she didn't like J. J.. It was that even though she had claimed differently, she did feel more comfortable with a female best girlfriend. Still J. J. was her second best friend (second only to Jennifer), so she followed him up to his room and helped him look for the wishing stone.

A half hour later the pair had looked everywhere that they could think to look. Still no wishing stone. J. J. glanced at his clock radio once again. It was a minute later than it had been last time he looked. Karyn and he needed to leave now or they would be late to baby sit for Mrs. Robertson.

"We'll look tonight for it." J. J. said. "We need to hurry or we will be late."

Karyn smiled to herself. Jennifer was so interested in finding the wishing stone that she hadn't taken any time to change from her short skirt and revealing top.

The pair grabbed their back packs and ran - walked to the Robertson's house.

"I am sorry we are late." J. J. said as Mrs. Robertson let the in.

"You girls aren't late." Mrs. Robertson said, "But another minute and you would have been. You know everything you need to know about the new medicine for Amber to take? Any questions?"

"No. We have everything you gave us written down." J. J. said. "We will be fine, won't we girls?' Jennifer added talking the older of the Robertson girls.

"Yes." They both agreed.

The girls, both the teen age pair and the youngest, were busy until J. J. and Karyn tucked the last of them into bed. They then broke out their books and completed their homework.

By the time they got home, both were too tired to even think about the wishing stone, let alone look for it. And J. J. had given up trying to convince anyone else to call him J. J. and was answering to the name of Jennifer.

Aerobics in the morning went better for J. J. and he was extra careful to pack a pair of jeans, not noticing the pair he picked was a pair of stretch jeans without back pockets. Wearing the jeans, J. J. presented a figure that made most of his male class mates more than a bit excited.

Before J. J. and Karyn returned home after Tuesday's school day, Mrs. Jennings returned home. Today was a short day for her and she stopped in Jennifer's room to return a book she had borrowed. As she bent over, she felt one of her ear rings fall off and roll behind the book case. As she reach behind the book case for her ear ring, she found Jennifer's missing wishing rock.

Just as she picked up her ear ring and the stone, the phone rang. She went into her bedroom to take the phone. It was her best friend, Kathy.

She heard the girls enter the house and head into Jennifer's room. While the girl's did whatever they did in Jennifer's room, the women talked about what was new. Kathy was really pleased with her daughter's prom gown and even liked the boy her daughter was taking to the prom.

Kathy had to hang up just as Jennifer and Karyn needed to leave. Mrs. Jennings, carrying the wishing stone, stopped the girls as they were just about ready to leave. "Do either of you have prom dates yet girls?" She asked.

"Not yet, Mrs. Jennings." Karyn said.

"Because Ryan hasn't asked you yet." J. J. teased his friend.

"Well Justin hasn't asked you yet, Jennifer." Karyn countered.

J. J. didn't want to have this conversation with his mother. "We have to run now Mom or will be late. Come on Karyn." He concluded.

As Mrs. Jennings watched the two girls head down the sidewalk, she said, "I wish "
