Karyn brought out several bottles of nail polish and soon she and J. J. were painting their finger nails and tow nails in bright colors.
Karyn began talking about the various guys in their class. "What do you think of Ryan?"
"Ryan Roberts?" J. J. asked, referring to their school's star quarterback.
Karyn nodded, 'yes'.
"He is okay, I guess."
"Okay! Are you nuts, girlfriend? Most of the other girls get moist just talking about him."
"He is cute." J. J. agreed. "I guess he isn't my type."
"What do you want in a guy?"
"Karyn!" J. J. said. "I am not that type of guy!"
"I know, silly. Just pretend, okay?"
"Why?"
"Because you are my best friend, and I asked you to."
"I don't think I can. It is just too weird."
"I bet you can." Karyn said, spotting the wishing stone on J. J.'s book case. She stood and carefully walked over to it while saying. "In fact, I bet you could fool lots of people into thinking you were really a girl, if you tried."
"Well, I don't want people thinking I am a girl."
Karyn leaned up against the book case, her hand touching the wishing stone and she said, "I wish ."
