"The one I'd like to go out with is Anita Warner," Alan announced.
"Who?" Jon and Jeff asked in unison.
"Anita Warner. She's a cheerleader over at Skyhawk High School. We've been dating for a few weeks now. I'm going to her football game Friday night, then we're going hiking on Saturday, and then we're playing volleyball on Sunday. So, sorry guys, I'm booked."
Jon didn't find this particularly upsetting. Instead, he was just as confused as before, although possibly for different reasons. Jeff, however, was devastated.
"I thought we were friends," Jeff moaned.
"This is your first day at a new school," Adam reminded Jeff. "We met at the bus stop this morning. Altogether, we've probably spent about thirty minutes together. You seem like an OK guy and to tell the truth, that pussy of yours seems kinda interesting. Jon's seems kinda interesting. That's why I dated him once. But Jeff, we're not an item, at least not today."
"Earlier, you wished you knew what it was like to be half male and half female, and to date both sexes," Jon reminded Jeff. "Other than the dating, why was that? What interested you about being part female?"
