It was Lunch when Karyn and Emily met up with one of the Triplets, Joan.
Walking over, they asked where her sisters were, only to have Joan close her eyes for a second then point to a group across the street from the school, off of school property. There was Jane, leaning forward to let Jeff Stewart light a cigarette for her, before giving him a sizzling kiss on the lips!
" What is she doing?" Karyn cried!
" Thanking her boyfriend for the light, what else"
" Boyfriend? Light? You don't smoke, and how can she have a boyfriend, you're all really Jon! Anyway, Jeff is one of the top runners on the track team, I KNOW that he doesn't smoke. His coach would kill him"
" Of course she smokes, all three of us do! You should know, it was you that turned us into the Virginia Slims models yesterday! I was just heading over to meet Janice Westerover for a quick drag before lunch was over myself. Your right Jeff doesn't smoke himself, but he always gone with girls that did. Your wishes did nothing to change that! "
" Jeff and Jane ? When did you three end up with boyfriends? That wasn't part of the wish!"
" You wished that everybody has always thought we were triplets, so of course we'd all have boyfriends or lovers. How could three gorgeous girls like us NOT have a steady ?"
" We'll have to fix this all later, when we get back home and have the rock. So where is number 3, Joanna? Don't tell me she went to join her boyfriend for a smoke too?"
" Well, Joanna ended up a bit sluttier then Jane and I did, she's probably down behind the bleachers with Skip Ellison"
" Smoking too?"
Joan closes her eyes again for a second, then smiles.
" Nope, there're screwing, she smokes after, if she has time before she has to be in class."
" WHAT!!!" screamed Karyn. But before Karyn could go any further, Emily interrupts with a question of her own.
" Why did you close your eyes when we asked you where the rest of you were?"
" We seem to have that "twin-link" thing going on, but since we used to be the same person, it's a LOT stronger then most other twins have. We just KNOW what the other is doing and feeling."
" That's awesome." Emily said, " but what do you mean that you " used to be the same person", you still are, you're Jon, and we'll find a way to get all the pieces back together and you'll be your old self again!"
" No I won't. Too many changes, too many wishes piled on top of each other. Even if you got us back together, I doubt we'd be the same as I was before. And anyway, who said we WANTED to be back together? As Jon, all we ever wanted to to be loved - but as close as we were Karyn, you were never really my girlfriend, were you?"
Karyn looks away.
"But new all three of us have personal love in our lives, Jane has Jeff, Joanne has Skip ( and lots of other guys! ) and me I have someone too! Why should we give all that up? We also KNOW that we'll have a career in Modeling if we want it. Nothing you can tell me in Jon's future can better that! Well, here comes who I was waiting for, see you both at home later!"
Karyn and Emily look around searching for Joan's new boyfriend, only to be startled when Janice walks over and gives Joan a kiss.
" But you said...."
" Only that I had a Lover too... you see, three parts of the spectrum, Jane's straight, Joanne's a slut, and I'm a lesbian. We've got it covered!"
Joan walks ways hand in hand with Janice over to the smoking section, both lighting up and taking deep inhales of their Virginia Slims 120's. Karyn looks at Emily , "they got it covered? What does that mean?"
" OH! Remember, all three SHARE what they feel, it's got to be very exciting for them.
