Jon, Karyn and Emily piled into the car and headed over to Jon's house. All three were laughing and joking in mixed relief and nervousness.
"Does anyone have a suggestion of what tell to my mother when she asked what I'm doing in a tux?"
Emily pulled the rock out and said, "why not just..."
"NO!" Both Jon and Karyn shouted simultaneously, followed by another fit of nervous laughter.
Jon was still trying to decide on which lame explanation to use when they went into his house. Instead of an inquisitive mother, Jon found a note on the hall table:
"Jon, your aunt Ellen is in the hospital and we've gone to visit her in Arboursville. It's nothing serious. We'll be back tomorrow evening late. There's $50 on the kitchen table in case you need it and a stack of frozen pizzas in the freezer.

"Well, that's a bit of luck for me if not aunt Ellen." Let me have the rock so I can hide it safely away and change clothes." You all go ahead and make yourselves at home."
Emily handed the rock to Jon and said. "Why don't you slip into something more comfortable", but ruined the line with snorting laughter.
As Jon went upstairs to change, Karyn and Emily went into the kitchen. Emily sat down and began idly rummaging through the accumulation of junk mail on the table while Karyn raided the freezer for one of the pizzas mentioned in the note.
"Hey Jon, I'm going to heat a pizza!", Karyn shouted.
"Yeah, go ahead. I'll be down in a few."
After slapping the pizza in the oven to heat for 20 minutes, Karyn joined Emily at the table.
"Anything interesting?" Karyn asked.
"Not really. There's two clothing catalogs, Land's End and JC Penny."
"Let me have the Penny's".
Emily held up a page with a model wearing a denim dress for Karyn to see. "Do you think this would look good on me?"
"OK, but sort of plain. How about something like this?" Karyn held out a two page advertisement with both hands from the Penny's catalog with a male model wearing a speedo.
"I'd definitely get a lot attention in that" Emily laughed.
Just then, Jon walked in wearing a more casual attire. "More attention in what", he asked?
"Oh nothing, I was just teasing Emily that she might look good in this", she said as she rotated around to show Jon.
When Jon looked at the picture Karyn held, he shimmered and suddenly found himself wearing nothing but a speedo.
"Oh my gawd!", both Emily and Karyn said in unison. Standing before them was the model from the catalog.
"Jon, is that you", Emily asked?
"Of course it's me! How could this happen? The rocks up in my room?!"
