Leaving his bedroom, Jon glanced down at himself and felt perplexed for a moment. His clothing ... they looked different. A green hoodie and jeans. Oh, it wasn't anything out-of-place. It was something a boy might wear. But it seemed very similar to something Karyn might wear too. Karyn was always more into wearing hoodies than Jon was. Was this the outcome of his wish? Pretty lame, if it was. Though, he should probably count himself lucky. After all, it could have been something far worse and more drastic.

The sound of heavy metal music blasting from behind the closed door of Zoe’s bedroom told Jon that his Goth sister was still the same. Well, as far as he knew. She could be a boy or something. Her door was shut, which meant that Zoe wanted privacy, but this was really important. He needed to know.

Knocking on the door, he said loudly "Zoe? I need to talk to you. It's important!"

"Fuck off!" she yelled.

"Jeez, fine," Jon said. Well, she sounded like herself, so maybe nothing had happened to her after all.

But then, suddenly, something changed. Her music changed. One moment, heavy metal was playing, then the next, something more like contemporary rock. In fact, it sounded like the type of music Jon liked.

Oh no, he suddenly thought.

Jon ran back to his bedroom and checked his music playlist. Everything on it was nothing but heavy metal bands! There were even some metal band posters on his walls! Somehow, he had switched his music preferences with his sister. And apparently, he had also switched clothing preferences with Karyn, he now realized. The clothing was boys clothing; he wasn't wearing a bra and panties or anything like that, but the general type of clothing that Karyn usually liked now seemed to be what Jon liked. Apparently. He checked his closet and saw more sweatshirts and hoodies in there, but he himself didn't really like the new clothing. He missed his T-shirts with funny sayings on the front. And metal music? No, definitely not a fan. But he had a feeling that everyone might think that he was. He was the only one that heard the wish, so he was probably the only one who wasn't mentally affected by any of this. But if Zoe no longer liked metal music, did that change her at all? A more important question, though, was - was there a way to stop these switches? Was there a reason that they were all happening? Or were the switches just being made randomly, for no reason?

Little did Jon know, the switch would happen every time he talked with someone. He had to speak to someone, and that same someone would have to speak back to him. A moment later, both of them would switch something, but everyone (except Jon) would believe that nothing had changed, as it had just happened with Karyn and Zoe. He could still converse with people without switching, though. A written message (paper and pen, an e-mail, a text) wouldn't cause a switch to happen. But at the moment, there was no way Jon could know that.
