Jon's mother finished running some errands after getting her hair styled. Everywhere she went women complimented her on her new hair do.
When she arrived home, Karyn was waiting for her. As Karyn helped unload the car, she asked, "Can I talk to you about Jon?"
"What did that boy do know?" Jon's mother asked as she finished putting away the groceries.
"I'm a bit worried about Jon working for Miss Shane." Karyn said.
"Why?"
"Jon looks like a guy wearing girl's clothes and people may think he is, ah, gay." Karyn said. "Some of Miss Shane's customers have children who go to our school. Someone is sure to mention that Jon is working for Miss Shane and how he looks. We have some kids at our school who are homophobics and might beat him up."
