By the time lunch rolled around, Jon was suprised at how large of an appetite he had. He hadnt really done any work all day, as the teachers didnt ask him any questions in class and didnt hand him the class homework assignments. Jon was a little suprised as he had been asked in a roundabout way to the homecoming dance by many of the hottest girls in school, even seniors, but he was going to talk to Karyn before he answered any of them. He hunted her down right as lunch began, and found her in the hall, talking to her friends. "Hey Karyn," he said, "can we talk?"
Karyn nodded and the two moved a short distance away from everyone else. "How was your day?" Karyn asked. Jon replied, "Fine, I've been getting alot of respect, and a lot of requests to go to the dance... but I've hit my head on the classroom doorways in every class..." Karyn nodded and said, "Me to, oh and..." he heard her continue in his head, "I made it so we can communicate telepathically, just think about it and it will work." Jon concentrated on her and thought, "Cool... anyhow, what should I tell the girls who ask me out?" Karyn thought back, "Well... I sort of already got a date to it, last week, you can go out with one of the other girls if you want, I dont even care if you screw her, cause I know no human can measure up to me." Jon smirked as he thought, "A little cocky, arent you?" Karyn just smirked and turned back to her friends. Jon smiled, and went off to get lunch, he drove to subway and got himself 3 foot-long spicy italians with double meat. He finished them off in a couple minutes and talked to some of the other students who were there for awhile, but got bored quickly and drove back to school. He walked around the halls till he saw Christina, who was one of the prettiest girls in school, but she wasnt popular because she was too poor to afford fashionable clothes, and she hadnt made the cheerleading team. Jon walked up to her and she seemed a little uncomfortable. Jon said, "Hey Christina." She politely replied, "Hello, Jon." Jon hesitated a moment, then asked, "So, you got a date to the dance." She shook her head, and asked, "Why?" Jon just smiled and said, "I'm looking for one, you want to go?" Christina looked at him dubiously and said, "I think I've heard about this prank, Jon." Jon was suprised that anyone would think that of him, but then remembered that he was now the most popular guy in school, he quickly replied, "No way Christina, I'm not like that, I really want to go with you, but if that's the way you feel..." He turned and started to walk away, but Christina stopped him, "No wait!, Jon, I'm sorry, I guess I just assumed that no popular kid would want to go out with me. I'd love to go with you, but I dont have a dress." Jon nodded and replied, "Dont worry about it, I can get you any dress you want, meet me after school and we'll work it out." Christina blushed and walked away. Jon grinned at himself, it felt good to help the unpopular kids since he had been one for so long. He looked around for his friends and didnt see them, so he waited by his locker casually, talking to the kids who passed by. Finally, the bell rang and lunch period was over.
