After tying up the loose ends between herself and the stone, Karyn felt she could better concentrate on her classwork. At first, the knowledge that her clothing was, in fact, her best friend Jon, was disconcerting and distracting, but the sheer familiarity of his feel against her skin, how he felt just like all the other clothing she'd been wearing all her life, soon helped her put such thoughts to the back of her mind where she all but forgot about them.
Midway through the afternoon, she had almost forgotten about the fact that Jon wasn't going to be greeting her at the school gates after school.
But Jon, meanwhile, was extremely bored. For a long while, the novelty of being Karyn's clothing had kept him thinking about it, almost dreading while at the same time looking toward the future. One of the conclusions he'd made was that, if he had to be panties for the rest of time, he was glad that he was Karyn's panties, not to mention all the rest of her garments; and another was that if he was indeed stuck as Karyn's clothes, then he may as well get used to the idea, and decided that he would start trying to look on his new life with a positive air.
It sort of disconcerted him, when he thought about it, that he didn't need to breathe, but since there was nothing he could do about that, he decided not to worry about it. His subconscious mind, at that point decided to equate the movements caused by Karyn's breathing with his own, which at that point started a process where both Karyn and Jon would begin to become almost inseperable, eventually getting to the point where Jon would become anxious during the time when Karyn wasn't wearing him while in the shower.
But once the novelty had worn off, Jon found that he was, indeed, incredibly bored.
He was so bored that, in order to allieviate that boredom, he started actually paying attention in class. True, it was Karyn's class, and as such he wasn't totally sure exactly what was going on just yet, but he found that without horemones to distract him he was actually able to catch up pretty quickly on what was being taught. As the hours went on, he started literally memorizing everything that Karyn put down in her notes, rationalizing that he could be Karyn's 'study buddy' as well as her clothes. Not that he would do the learning for her, that was her job, but if nothing else he could help.
By the time that school let out for the day, Jon had learned quite a lot.
'Hey Karyn, can you believe that the Confederate's Iron-Clad ship almost won the Naval war for them before it even met the Union's Iron-Clad? And then when they did meet, they both walked away thinking that they had won. I think it was kind of funny, though, how Stonewall Jackson was shot dead by one of his own guys.'
"Yeah, real funny. Can't you think about anything else to think about?" Karyn was beginning to feel a bit exasperated at Jon's seeming overenthusiasm for her schoolwork.
'Um... well, actually, not really.'
Karyn, frustrated with Jon, decided that he needed something else to think about. "You know what, Jon?"
