"It's an Energy Siphoner, bit large I know but its the first model in what hopefully will be a very enlightening future." said Leonard
"What does it do?" replied Jon
"It takes energy from a family heirloom and charges seemingly everyday items with a mystical energy causing said item to produce an effect, with random items it produces effects related to their use almost all of them trans-formative though."
"This is very interesting if it does what you claim it does but why are you telling me this?" asked Jon curiously.
"You are my oldest friend Jon, I trust you with my family's secret. I have an object in mind that I have been needing to test, and my testing partner is currently unavailable so I look to you to help me."
"Who is your other testing partner, why are they not available?" questioned Jon
"For that to be answered you need a bit of backstory my father and I created this machine but the rock that is the conduit for the energy has been mentioned before in our past, it is from a story we were told in our childhood. You remember when we were young and we asked father to read a story for us and he'd always choose some wild story seemingly from nowhere that was impossible and fantastic"
"Yeah I miss those stories, The books he has written followed some of the plot points in those stories but when it was just us he'd go into crazy detail about weird and wonderful tales." reminisced Jon
"Good. Remember the Woman and the moon rock"
"Indeed. A young woman encountered a meteorite on her walk home she decided to touch it and upon realizing there were no apparent side effects she took a large chunk home with her as big as she could carry at the time, fetched her vehicle and returned but when she had done so the Meteor was cordoned off by some military operation. She kept her distance and researched their personal chunk and made shocking discovery's including one that the meteor contained an alien energy that had trans-formative properties to it. It was the root for most of his stories they all seemed to branch out from that woman and her rock" explained Jon.
"That woman, is my father" stated Leonard
"He hahaahah ha, Funny"
"I'm completely serious, after long periods of time interacting with the rock she transformed into a man, since then he has been able to transform back and forth but at the time he was stuck, a man with no past and a woman seemingly missing, he left his life and started as an author with the goal to build some capital for this machine to harness our heirlooms energy for other purposes. When you see him you should ask him about it it is extremely interesting and gives his books a whole new light."
"So where's your dad now, I can confirm it with him" asked Jon, fully aware that this would probably be the interesting thing that he wished for...
"He...she is with her other family at the moment hence my need for a new testing partner, you."
"Alex and has abandoned you and your mom and is living with another family??!?" announced shocked Jon.
"Nah they come and go a lot for work, Alice is in Australia right now we talk all the time she's due back in a few weeks but I can't wait that long and have developed a prototype for getting the energy to do a specific operation which is where you come in."
