Zoe thought a moment. How much did she want to torture her brother? Wasn't locking him out of his own room bad enough? Not entirely sure of herself, Zoe took the offered stone from Sarah, and said "I wish that Jon knew how to put together amazingly cute and girly outfits, and I wish that he was wearing one of his favorites right now."

Sarah looked admonishingly at Zoe. "That was technically two wishes. But I guess I'll let it slide this once. That was pretty funny. Now give me back the rock."

Zoe began to hand over the stone, but stopped as she heard her brother's muffled yell from the other side of the door: "What the hell did you two do to me!?"

"I guess he must have heard," Sarah sighed.

The next thing the two girls heard was the voice Zoe's mother, though they couldn't quite make out the words. "I wonder what's going on out there," Zoe said.

"Let's find out."

Sarah opened the door just in time to hear Jon shout very clearly, "What do you mean, 'it looks very nice on me?' I'm a guy, and guys aren't supposed to wear things like this!" Jon wasn't even thinking about being locked out of his room anymore.

Zoe found herself appraising the three outfits before her. Sarah's pink-on-black outfit was adequate, but could use some more layering and a bit more variety. Her mom was wearing a plain business suit, which was professional enough, but would look nicer if she'd bothered to find a blouse that contrasted with the cream color of her jacket and skirt instead of the white one she currently wore. With Jon, however, she felt the need to speak her assessment out loud, interrupting the burgeoning argument.

Zoe placed two fingers on her cheek as she looked at her brother. "I like your matching white flats and capris, but that teal sweater could be a bit tighter to really show you off. Maybe switch it for a crop-top, let a little belly show."

Jon stopped whatever he'd been saying and looked down at himself. Much as he knew he didn't belong in these clothes, Zoe's words struck true to him. While he probably wouldn't have thought of it himself, now that he'd heard someone else say it, he just knew that he had to change shirts before anything else.

Jon excused himself and pushed past Sarah and Zoe to get to his bedroom, then locked the door behind him.

Mrs. Gibson sighed. "Do you two know what's going on with Jon today? That was abut the weirdest I've ever seen him act."

Sarah and Zoe just giggled, retreating into Zoe's bedroom. Mrs. Gibson shook her head and went back downstairs. Something was going on, but she couldn't put her finger on what.
