The crotch snaps were always the hardest part. Jon contorted herself, tugging and pulling to lock the lavender fabric in place. Bodysuits were great, because you never had to worry about your top coming untucked, but they were still hell to get secured into. She stood up straight, feeling the fabric go taught across her flat stomach, and stepped into the white miniskirt, pulling it up over her hips and zipping it at the back.

She briefly swiped on a new coat of lipgloss and took stock of herself in the mirror. Relief. It wasn’t like Jon to care that much about what other people thought of her, but she couldn’t help it. She knew they should have left the store 15 minutes ago. Whatever. So what if it was a little magic, her new outfit WAS cuter than what she picked out herself. And fitting in was important. Jon reminded herself that she only went in to change to make sure the real Sarah wouldn’t be able to pick her out of a crowd, but Jon knew that was only half true. They had to get to the Occult Shop and fix this before everyone lost themselves, or maybe worse, embraced it.

There were Sarahs throughout the mall now, a lineup for the fitting room that she was now occupying. Jon opened up Snapchat and took a selfie with the dog filter. #toohotforjeans.

“Oh my god Jon. It’s like you’ve never been in a changing room before.” Athena and Diane said in unison. The three girls pushed their way through several Sarah clones, all with a lavender bodysuit and white mini skirt over one arm.

The Occult Shop, on the far other side of the mall was deserted and everything inside seemed untouched, save for the shock of green behind the register, another Sarah, in the neon bikini, a stark contrast to the blacks and reds that surrounded her. Just being here made Jon anxious. It was so dark, so creepy, so…loser. She shook her head. Another purely Sarah thought. It made sense in a way, Sarah would never be caught dead in a store like this. Hiding from the real Sarah, she mused, might just be as easy as doing the things that were starting to make her sick to her stomach just thinking about them. The computer lab, fast food restaurants, Sears.

“…I’m going to change out of it on my break.” The girl behind the register said to Athena. “Oh I don't know, something just a little more perfect for a day like today.”

Athena had just finished suggesting a push-up lacy lavender bodysuit and a white skirt, when Jon walked up.

“Look, Matt, we need your help…” Right as the words left Jon's mouth, she realized that Athena and Diane had said the same thing, at the exact time.
