If what Sam said is true, then Lance could be using her. However, it still did not make sense, or did it make sense that he would want to take over the world. It is possible, but why?

"That Lock spell, my dear, is a spell that restricts the usage of the powers those SAGES have. The DEVIL that launched that attack actually entered the battle after you came in. You were hit from behind by Warren; the DEVIL locked you in the game so that you would not die. Basically, it caused your real body to go into a coma until we could restore you, but Lance has the David body. I do not know what he plans on doing," replied Sam.
Misty was confused, that could be possible, but this makes it seem like he was supposed to die, that Lance putting David into Leslies body was not an accident, then why?
