Misty took her LAPTOP and ran the file that Lance had given her to get Mace out of his Alternative Avatar. As the program ran, a bright light surrounded Mace that cause Suzie and Misty to look away. As it subsided, the duo was shocked to see not Mace standing before them, but instead it was someone else.
"I am not too late; there is still time to set things straight. You must be the chosen one, Lancelot's personal slave girl. You do not know me, and you probably never had any reason to want to know me. I am Sam, the so called LORD DEATH. I rather hate that name, do you know that it was not I that chose that name, but it was Lance," the mystery man spoke. He gestured for Misty and Suzie to sit at the counter and waved his hands causing the room to change from a Bar scene to a wire frame room.
"We are in the debugging level, and Misty, dear young woman have been taken advantage of greatly by Lance. Let me explain a few things before I let you ask questions of me. I did in fact Hack into this system, but not for the reasons Lance has told you. He has confused himself with me. I tried to protect the people, he wanted to take advantage of them, it is part of his END GAME. Think about it, why do you have breasts? Because he switched your mind into another body, that is why. He did that as a test to see if it could be done, and chose you as a useless person that would not be noticed, and chose Leslie because of her skills. You might not have noticed yet, but you have her IQ and her programming skills. This was part of his design, to create his own Leslie that would do what he told her to do. Leslie was my right hand programmer, but when I was terminated, she was forced to patch my backdoors and disable my safeties. I kidnapped her to save her, but it is to late. She is already dead, as her consciousness has no body to return to. He has told you to save her, but there will be no way to, so you will be forced to slay her, something he did not tell you. Doing so will unleash her Final Attack, FAIL SAFE. He told you that it does something good, it does not. It reboots the system throwing all of my Hackers out, and implements the final patch preventing us from coming back. It also activates his END GAME, which destroys all fail safes and allows Lance a few things. He has unrestricted access to people's minds and memories. With that, he can read anything, or write anything to their minds. And the greatest power, he can take ones mind and switch it with another, case in point you and Leslie. Think if you can imagine this horrible sight, the President of the USA replaced mentally by a dictator."
His words drummed into Misty's head. What did this mean? Was she a test more than once for Lancelot? Was it not an accident that David ended up becoming Leslie? Or, was this man lying? DEVILS were known to trick players, could this be a trap?
