Jon's mom just couldn't bring herself to tell Jen what had happened. She had wished that Jon would be more like Karyn, several times, and even tried it after sending Jon to his room, with the result that Jon had become a girl.
She just couldn't bear seeing her son/daughter react... but wait. There was something she could do.
"I wish that Jon and Karyn wouldn't be upset at me for making changes since they know how easy it is to make mistakes."
She opened the door again and said "I... I have a confession, Jen..."
"Mom?" said Jen. "What do you mean?"
"I mean... I didn't wish for your room to be neat. I wished you'd be like Karyn enough times to make you into a girl. You're really my son!"
"What?" said Jen. "But Mom..."
"It was a mistake! First a mistake because I didn't know, and then a mistake of judgment!"
"It's okay," said Jen. "I understand..."
"Yeah," said Karyn, "but Jen needs the rock back?"
"I don't want any part of this thing," said her mother. "But I want my son back... I know. I wish that Jen would magically turn into two people, twins, and that one would be Jon because all my wishes about Jon only happened to the other one. Now I wish everyone would remember that I had twins." She left the stone on the dresser and walked out, as Jen began to transform.
