He pulled out a badge and held it up for Jon and Karyn to see. "I'm Agent Muldoon from the Department of Magical Affairs. This is my partner Agent Shalin. Do you two go to school here?"
"Yes," Jon replied quickly.
"Have either of you expeienced any unexplained phenomena in the last 24 hours? Discontinous memories? Unusual changes. Anything?"
"Uh, no sir. Eveythings's been normal." Karyn replied.
He turned to Jon. "How about you?"
Jon shook his head. "I haven't seen anything wierd."
Agent pulled out a business card and handed it to Karyn. "If you do experince anything or if you remember something you think may be relevent I want you to contact me."
Karyn took the card. "Sure, we'll let you know."
"Thanks for your cooperation." Agent Muldoon turned and walked away.
Jon and Karyn headed back toward the school. Once they were out of earshot of the agents Karyn spoke up. "We've got to find your sister before they do. We can't let them find out about the stone."
"I agree, but where could she be?" Jon replied.
"They're hiding something." Agent Muldoon said. "The readings were unmistakeable. There was a definite magick residue of unknown origin coming from them."
"Well, even if they are hiding something how do you intend to find out. If this source of magick is as powerful as you claim how are we ever going to get close enough to find it?" Agent Shalin asked.
"With these." Agent Muldoon pulled out two plain golden rings.
"Form Shifters?!" Agent Shalin exclaimed. "How did you ever manage to get clearance to use those? Use of them is tightly restricted."
"Don't worry about that. Here just put it on and it'll make us appear to be average students. We'll blend in and search for the source."
Agent Shalin sighed and took the ring. "Alright, but if I get fired for this I'm turning you into a newt." She slipped the ring on. There was a soft glow around her body as it changed shape. Within seconds she appeared as a teenage elf girl dressed for school.
Agent Muldoon slipped on his ring and shifted his own form to that of a teenage boy. He pulled out his portable detection device. "Let go."
