Jon and Karyn were searching the school for Zoe. They were waling past the school parking lot when Jon suddenly stopped.
"Hey Jon what's up? We gotta find Zoe before she causes any more damage."
Jon pointed to a tall man with brooding expression and dark and a female elf with long auburn hair teleported in. "People don't usually teleport around. It's restricted. Something's up."
The elf woman looked around skeptically. "Maldune, Mind telling me why we've just teleported to a suburban High School without out directors approval?"
"My contacts informed me that their new scanning equipment was picking up unusal magick readings. Totally off the chart stuff. This could be the proof I need to prove that there are far more powerful and ancient forms of magick than are currently known." Agent Muldune replied animatedly.
"You mean your vampire contacts who spend all their time lurking in the dark tinkering? Muldune, there's been no hard evidence that any mechanical or electronic device can detect magick, let alone some strange form that supposedly exist. And even if there were proof here, how do you intend on finding it? It could be anywhere." Agent Shalin said skeptically.
"With this." Muldune pulled out a small metallic object. "My contacts managed to build a portable detector for me."
"You really believe that's going to detect magick?"
"It's already getting a reading. Over there." He pointed directly toward Jon and Karyn. "You two!" He called out as he walked toward them. Agent Shalin rolled her eyes and followed.
Jon and Karyn looked at each other, unsure how to react. "Do you think he's looking for the stone?" Jon whispered.
"He must be, what do we do?" Karyn asked.
"Deny everything." Jon whispered back just before the man reached them.
