Jon.
The name flowed easily into Karyn's bestial mind. He cared greatly for her, and she for him. It was only natural they be mated!
She purposefully strode through town. She decided to run on all fours to make better headway, and held the stone with her teeth. Somehow, she remembered it was important.
The she-wolf reached Jon's house in record time, and panted with straining heat. She needed her mate, right now!
She clasped her claws around the drain pipe, and began hauling herself up to the lit window.
Jon puzzled endlessly over where the stone had ended up. True, he didn't want the responsibility, but it could be a dangerous tool in the wrong hands! Who knew where it was, and what someone might accidentally do with it?
A clanging noise outside broke his train of thought. He listened for the direction, and heard it again.
When did the drain pipe get loose? He walked over to the window to investigate.
He was greeted with the sight of something scaling the pipe. It was quite bestial, yet something about it was oddly familiar.
Desperately, he backed away from the window, searching for something to use as a weapon. His hands clasped around an autographed Cal Ripkin Jr. baseball bat when someone knocked on his door.
"Jon? You cool?" His little sister, Zoe. "Need me to call 911 or something?"
Jon nervously looked toward the window. The she-beast it was definitely female had reached the window, and was slowly ripping it from the frame.
His eyes widened when he looked at its mouth. The stone! But who could have gotten it?
"Whatcha doing in there, bro?" The door creaked open. "C'mon, stop "
Jon tried to move to block Zoe's entrance. "Don't come in!"
The window was torn free of the house, allowing the she-wolf entry. She deftly leaped into the room, snarling as she landed on all fours. The floorboards creaked from its weight. Jon and Zoe backed themselves against the closet door.
"Holy shit " Zoe gasped.
The werewolf opened its mouth wide enough to free the stone from its fangs. It dropped with a clunk onto the wooden floor.
"JON " it snarled.
The truth hit like a sledgehammer. "Karyn!? What did you do to yourself?" He lowered the bat and approached the stone. "Let me take the stone, I'll "
The she-wolf snarled. "NO WANT STONE!"
Zoe smiled. "Okay, so, whaddya need, then?"
Karyn-wolf snarled at the girl. "SISTER." Her attention fused onto Jon. "MATE."
The humans had time to gasp as she leaped.
