Mikey's mother had forced him to go to bed. He tried to ask her about Jon, but she seemed to have a blank spot about him...she knew she had a son, but beyond that, she kept ignoring his lack of presence.
The night continued. As Scarlett and Athena worked on their project, things had slowed down considerably as the night got later.
Nadine wandered the streets uninterrupted. It was a quiet night. She didn't think much of that. She'd been planning a prayer meeting when suddenly...she felt disconnected. Nothing seemed to belong to her. She dropped everything and walked out. No one even seemed to notice she was gone, which helped with the feeling of disconnection she felt.
It started to rain, but she was beyond caring.
Zoe Warren finished grading assignments and placed them in her bag, then took a nice long bath before turning in. She had a full day of teaching tomorrow.
Lydia Harrison was laid up in a local motel. When the heat died down, she'd be leaving town.
