As it turned out, the person that got Jon Gibson's name was Athena DeVries, his Goth sister Zoe's best friend. Athena only knew Jon through Zoe. She had encountered him here and there, but didn't really know that much about him, except for whatever Zoe had said about him. One thing she knew about him though was that compared to Zoe and herself, he seemed a bit lame. Maybe Athena could do something about that?

Zoe came down the stairs, seeing Jon looking down at a slip of paper. "Is that what I think it is?" she asked. "So whose name did you get?"
"You know about this?" Jon asked.
"Well, duh. Almost everyone at school knows about it," she said. "I bet you're wondering who got your name," Zoe said, smiling.
"Do you know who?" Jon asked, thinking it was reason for her smile. In fact, the moment after Athena had drawn Jon's name from the hat, she called Zoe and told her about it.
"Maybe. But first, tell me. Whose name did you get?"
"Sarah McMillan," Jon said.
"You got that bitch?!" Zoe then broke out in laughter, something uncommon for the Goth girl, but it was nice to see anyway. "If anyone deserves to get fucked over, it's her."
"Zoe, language," their mom admonished, walking into the room. "Dinner is ready. Someone go tell Mikey to come down here," she said, before heading back into the kitchen.

The rest of the night was uneventful, except for Zoe constantly giving Jon ideas about how to change Sarah, which got a bit annoying after a while. But it was kind of nice that Zoe actually wanted to do something with Jon for once, instead of keeping her distance and acting all perturbed all the time. (It might have been a bit more nice, though, if Zoe would've just told him who got his name. He had a feeling that she was secretly enjoying him not knowing.)
Once the next morning came around, though, things got a lot more interesting (or disturbing, depending on which way you wanted to look at it).
