The following morning before school, Jon took his customary shower. Wearing nothing but a towel, he headed out of the bathroom, but instead of going into his bedroom, he suddenly took an abrupt turn in the direction away from his room and headed to the front door.
The towel fell to the ground, forgotten as he walked down the street with the mindless determination of a trance.
Suddenly, with absolute clarity, he turned up the sidewalk to a house and walked in. He passed by a mother making breakfast in the kitchen and headed toward the bedrooms.
In the hallway, he pushed open the door to a bedroom, invisible to the occupant. He walked over to a dresser and pulled out a pair of cotton panties, slipping them on. They seemed to expand to fit him, which was good, because normally they would rip.
The jumper he slipped over his head stretched as well. As he finished slipping it on, he sat down on the floor. His face animated, but it was an innocent expression. Jon felt simple happiness and enjoyment as he gathered the legos in front of him, deciding he was going to build a castle.
Meanwhile, an eight year old girl named Jenny left the room, slipping out the door. Had her place in her mother's mind not been replaced by a teenager in child's garb, she might have worried, as the girl wasn't allowed to walk the neighborhood.
