As Sarah applied black lipstick to her lips, someone knocked on her door. "Ugh, who the fuck is that?" she whispered to herself. Walking to the door, she hoped it wasn't her stupid little brother Mikey. He never seemed to know when to leave his sister alone.
When she opened the door, however, it wasn't Mikey, but rather her best friend Jon DeVries.
"Jon? What are you doing here?" she asked. Usually they met at the school. She couldn't remember even one time when Jon came to her house, before school started.
"I just felt like I needed to come over," he said, walking into her room. "Hey, nice stockings," he said, looking down at his friend's legs. "I always thought you should have more color. Ever thought of wearing blood red?"
"I think it looks better on you than on me," Sarah said. She picked up her lipstick and finished putting it on. "There. Much better." She turned around and looked at Jon, who was now sitting on her bed. "Now, what's the real reason you came over?"
"I told you. I just felt like coming. I know this is going to sound strange, but I felt like I should be here. I can't explain it. It's just a feeling."
"You're not having one of your ... experiences, are you?"
"I don't think so. I doesn't feel the same." One of Jon's reputations at school was that of a witch. He did know quite a lot about the occult, but he only studied a lot of it because of his "experiences". He wasn't sure what they were, and the closest name he could put to them were "psychic episodes". But whatever was happening to him now wasn't like those at all.
"Well, I'm glad you're here anyway," Sarah said. "I don't think I can take much more of my fucking family. It's good to have a friend like you around."
Jon smiled.
Meanwhile, Biff continued to wander the streets in search for a new identity.
