Behind him, he heard the bathroom door open and turned to see his sister Zoe walking back to her room. She made no reaction to Mikey's presence.
It was incredibly frustrating. There was nothing wrong with him, yet everyone acted like he wasn't there. He tried standing in Zoe's path, but she just walked around him.
Finally, he blocked her door, but when he did, she turned around and went back to the bathroom, mumbling about having forgotten something. She was NOT a morning person. Or an afternoon person. Or an evening person. She was pretty much cranky all day.
Passing by his teacher heading toward the shower in his pajamas, he turned back to his mother, who was laying out his clothes for the day...or not his clothes. The clothes she was laying out were similar, but seemed to lean toward more feminine tastes.
"Great," Mikey said. "Not only has my teacher stolen my life, but she's giving it cooties."
