At that, Mikey was shooed out of the room, door closed behind him.
Instead of going downstairs, though, Mikey immediately ran to the bathroom: he felt sick. But as soon as he entered the bathroom and saw his reflection, he felt even sicker. His eyes, normally green, were now a brown that matched the former Miss Warren. His hair, normally a dirty blond, was now the same jet black as his new parent's as well. Mikey was scared.
He stumbled out of the bathroom in time to see his father - his original father - stumble blankly up the stairs.
"Dad?" Mikey called out just as the door to the master bedroom opened.
Lydia stepped out, turning to her son. "That's a silly way to address me. Why don't you call me mom like you always do?"
Mikey's heart, which had by now already sunk, simply began to disintegrate. What had he done?
