In the mall, Mikey was bored as his new mother dragged Zoe to clothing stores, fighting over clothing. He wasn't sure he liked her. He missed his own Mom...especially since she was making his life hell at school.
Sitting outside the store on a bench, he spotted Gina walking past him. She'd changed...and not for the better. She was eating, and looked like she must have been doing so all day, because she'd swelled up to way past fat, into obese. He hoped she was going to grow, because the amount of fat looked scary on a girl her size.
"Hey, Mikey," she said. "You look bored. Want to come to the video game store?"
That actually didn't sound bad to him, whoever Gina was supposed to be, she seemed friendly. "Zoe and...Mom are in there," he gestured to the clothing store. "Mom's on the warpath about Zoe being Goth."
Gina finished her food and threw it in a local garbage. "If you want to come, we'll go ask your mom."
