Mikey occupied himself with the work on the desk. He found that the real Christine must still be inside him, or rather her, somewhere, because he knew how to do her job. He had some sort of limited access to her...as needed.
He began to print out the past due bills he had to make callbacks for that day, as well as the day's schedule, when a man a few years older than her...than Christine entered. "I'm Doctor Nakahashi. I'm filling in for Doctor Kaufman." Doctor Kaufman was a middle-aged woman.
"I'm the office assistant," Mikey found herself saying. "Christine." She smiled at the Doctor. "Your first patient is at 7. I'll show you Doctor Kaufman's office," she escorted him back. Mikey struggled, finding herself thinking too many of Christine's thoughts. It wasn't until she was alone at the desk she felt more like her normal self.
That was when Mikey's mom entered, and walked past her. She followed, and watched as she put on a pair of scrubs, and covered that with a labcoat and a nametag that said Doctor Nakahashi. Then Mikey's mom went to work as the male Nakahashi exited the office. She tried to follow him, but couldn't bring herself to leave the office.
She was only able to return to her desk. A few minutes later, a woman dressed in an unflattering set of overalls, which covered an ugly shirt entered. Her clothes were loose enough to hardly flatter her body, and her hair was in a messy pony tail. She seemed nervous about something. It was Miss Warren...Lydia.
