By the time gym class finished, Jenny had become a strawberry blonde, and her complexion had paled out a bit. She normally didn't like taking showers in the locker room and simply tried not to exert herself during gym so she wouldn't be sweaty all day. But today just happened to be the mandatory mile run test, and her gym clothes were dark with sweat. She made sure she was one of the first to walk in to the shower, as she rushed to grab the fancy soap kit her father bought her at the beginning of the year, but that she hadn't used until today, and tried to hurry through the routine. She was able to take far less time than most of the girls: she didn't have to spend as long on her pageboy hair.
As she walked out of the showers, however, she dropped her soap kit and walked blankly towards someone else's locker.
