Mikey gulped, suddenly uncertain about what he was going to do. He'd hidden the stone at home and would need it to fix any of this. The rest of the day seemed impossibly long, and he was very distracted.
He watched as Lydia chewed her long nails short, nervously, along with biting into the pencil he loaned her, which he was certain he didn't want back now, a bad habit Jimmy hadn't had, showing they were indeed different.
He watched as Jon's hair and nails grew long, and his form more shapely. He'd had a crush on Miss Warren, and Jon, or the new Miss Warren, as he tried to think of her, was becoming much more crushworthy. And she seemed a better teacher, if possible.
When school was over, he and Lydia headed for the bus. Mikey's mother often dropped him off in the morning, but he usually took the bus home. Lydia, except for a few minor touches, looked very much a male child. He joked with her, or was it him now?, and discovered she was much more fun than Jimmy.
