"Let's go to The Spiked Pit," Joni said. "I got a call last night from Lucy. Her cousins are coming to town today and she asked if we could show them around, take them to all the hot spots. They're Goths like us, so we should be in good company."
"Sounds like a plan to me," Linda said.
"So I guess this means you need my car," Jay said.
"Is that a problem?"
"Nah, but we have to go back to my house to get it. I just don't want to explain to my bitch of a mother where we're going, that's all."
"Then don't tell her. We'll just take the car and go," Joni said.
Jay shrugged his now-feminine shoulders, then waved them on. "Okay, let's go."
As they traveled to Jay's house to pick up his car, Jay finally completed his transformation, becoming Jayne Whitefield. Her purple-dyed hair was now accompanied by several cyberlocks in the colors of violet, indigo, and blue, and the goggles atop her head changed color to match, as bio-hazard symbols appeared on them. She was actually shorter than both Joni and Linda, but it was hard to tell, thanks to her black knee-high buckled boots with 6-inch stacks. Her breasts stopped growing at a B-cup (which is what Jay would have had if he had been born a girl). And her make-up was heavier, her lipstick, eyeliner, and nail polish all in the color of blue. She was a cybergoth, through and through.
When they arrived at Jayne's house, they fortunately didn't see her mother anywhere. They walked straight to the car, got in, then drove off in the direction of The Spiked Pit.
A moment later, Benny came around from the backyard. He was still doing his gardening. His brow furrowed when he saw Jayne's car zooming down the road. He wasn't exactly sure why, but he felt immensely displeased. He had no idea whose car that was and it hadn't occurred to him yet that he had a daughter, let alone a rebellious one, but seeing the car speeding down the road made him feel ... angry. Shaking his head, confused by these sudden feelings, he went back to his gardening, not even realizing that his hair had gotten a little longer or that he had aged by a year, becoming 11 years old.
