Earlier, after Linda had donned Athena DeVries' clothes (consisting of a black gothic dress, a red corset, and black lace-up heeled boots), the former Goth girl left her bedroom and then her house, not caring about why the middle-aged woman was in her house or wearing her clothes, and also not caring about going to school and meeting up with her friends.

Instead, she had gone in a different direction, eventually coming to the house belonging to the Duncans, and then entering the room belonging to Jay Duncan, a geek who went to Lake Point High School and who was the head of both chess club and math club - things that Athena didn't give a shit about. But after she discarded her clothing and donned Jay's, her opinion suddenly shifted. Whereas before, she felt that school was a waste of her time, she now saw it as an ever-changing opportunity to challenge herself.

When Jon had entered the cafeteria, he shoved a nerd out of the way, as one might recall. That nerd was actually Athena Duncan. She cursed at the Goth under her breath, then headed to the geek table. Before that morning, she held no interest for the geek and nerd crowd, but now she found them appealing. She could even imagine them being friends.

After approaching the table, she asked if she could join them and they said she could, much to her appreciation. She looked around the table, seeing Kyla Leeson, Walter Smukmeyer, Leonard Drullers, Gladys Brewer (who wasn't really a nerd or geek, but they allowed her to sit at their table anyway), Carl James, and Wallace Richardson. She really felt at home sitting at that table.

Jon took a moment to look around the cafeteria, and felt nothing short of utter disdain at the rabble. Fucking idiots, every one. Some deluded themselves into thinking they were happy, though those that didn't were no better. He wanted to scream at them, to make them realize the pettiness and drudgery of their lives, but instead he just contented himself to curl his black lips back and sneer. He turned back towards the other Goths and saw some of them reacting in the same way and he was so glad to know that he wasn't the only person who felt that way.

Then suddenly, Zelda stood up from the table and walked away, without even a word. But Jon didn't care and neither did any of the other Goths. He knew it shouldn't concern him, so he didn't pursue it further.

And right at that moment, the former Jay Duncan was in Zelda's bedroom, putting on the last of the outfit he found. He blinked, not sure why he was at home, but then remembered that he had just gotten back from a doctor's appointment. Right?

"Hey, where's Jay?" Trevor suddenly asked.

It took Jon and Linda a moment to figure out who he was talking about, then it came to them. He was talking about Jay Whitefield, the cybergoth of the group.

"He had a doctor's appointment this morning, remember?" Stephanie answered.

"Oh yeah. I forgot," Trevor said.
