Tiffany was almost all ready to leave for work. The only thing left was to eat some breakfast and make sure Clark left for school. It would have been a fairly routine morning, if it weren't for the memories of Tiffany's former life getting in the way. She tried her best to not think about the girl's life and how she lived it, but the more she tried to not think about it, the more she did anyway. It was like that old saying "Don't think about a pink elephant." How are you supposed to not think about the pink elephant when it's stated in the order to not think about it?
After eating as much of her breakfast as she could, under the circumstances, she headed up the stairs to check up on her son Clark. She knocked on the door.
"Clark, honey, are you ready to go to school?" she asked.
"Yeah, yeah," she heard Clark say. It was odd. He usually sounded much more chipper than that. Then the door opened and Clark came out, carrying his schoolbag. He was dressed in a black T-shirt and black jeans.
"Clark, isn't that a little too much black? Maybe you should wear ..."
"I like black." And he did. Thanks to the memories of being Clair Pierce, black was now his favorite color.
"Okay, but I really think that ..."
"Can we just drop it? I'm not getting re-dressed."
Tiffany was perplexed by Clark's sudden sour attitude (in fact, it seemed a lot like Joni's usual attitude), but decided to shrug it off. Maybe Clark was just having a bad morning. Tiffany could relate.
"Okay, fine," Tiffany said, as she watched her son walk away, then down the stairs. A moment later, she heard the front door open and then close.
She was about to go downstairs herself to leave for work, but then she took a look at what she was wearing. She clearly remembered waking up that morning, knowing exactly what to wear to work. But now, her plain white blouse and gray pantsuit looked like a fashion disaster. She paused, knowing where that thought came from. It came from Tiffany Sanders, the girl she was in her previous life. Tiffany Sanders always wore sexy and revealing outfits, something that Tiffany Madison would never do. But along with the memories of her former life were the feelings. She felt powerful, wearing clothing like that. As if just by looking sexy she could get people to do things for her, boys mainly. It was a life that Tiffany Madison was totally unfamiliar with. But regardless, it had a strong influence on her at that moment, forcing her to head to her bedroom to change clothes.
When she was finally ready to head to work, she was dressed in a red blouse (with a scoop neck), a black skirt-suit, and a pair of 3-inch heels (the highest heel she had). The skirt was the shortest she could find in her closet, at mid-thigh-length. She wondered if she should go out and buy some shorter ones, but then decided against it. She wasn't going to submit to these new memories. She was just seeing if what happened to Tiffany Sanders could also happen to her. Could looking sexy really help her?
And with that, she left for work.
Moments later, Joni left her room. She needed to find the wishing stone. Little did she know, though, she wasn't the only one looking for it. Clark, Nick, Alice, and Karl were also looking for it. And they all had their own reasons for wanting to find it.
