To say that Joni was shocked would be an understatement. One moment, she was putting away her cellphone after her talk with Linda, then the next moment, an onslaught of memories penetrated her mind. And those memories told her that she was actually a boy named Jon. It was obviously strange to suddenly know what it was like to be a boy, but even more strange was the memories concerning the wishing stone. She remembered what she did with the stone (as Jon), how her friend Karyn Black (she knew the daughter of the Black family, but her name was Alice, not Karyn) had accidentally given herself larger breasts and blond hair, and all the smaller test wishes she had made.

But where was the stone now? She remembered going to bed with it the night of the school day that she showed it to Karyn. But the morning after was almost a complete blank. She remembered taking a shower as Jon, but then that's where Jon's memories ended.

Having Jon's memories, Joni knew how the wishing stone worked and it was entirely possibly that what caused Jon to become Joni was a wish made by the stone. But since Jon hadn't made that wish, who did?

"I was a Goth girl?" Clark asked aloud. The memories just came out of nowhere and frankly, they freaked him out. He remembered the life of Clair Pierce clearly.

Then it dawned on him. Clair Pierce. Clair turned into him. But that meant that ... he was part of the chain. And whoever he replaced must have replaced someone else. But who did he replace? Whoever it was most likely had the stone in their possession, whether they knew it or not. Clark had to figure out who it was.

Tiffany was shocked. One moment, she was making herself some breakfast before heading to work, then the next moment, she remembered being a ditzy and slutty teenage girl. Never in her life had she ever acted so inappropriately. But there were the memories, right there. She could remember so many things in such a detailed ... she just didn't want to think about it. Tiffany was a sensible woman. She wasn't like this other person. Not in the slightest. And more than ever, she wanted to forget. But she couldn't. She was stuck with those memories for the rest of her life.

On the way to school, Nick and Alice suddenly became disoriented.

The memories of Nicole and the original Alice were back.

"What just happened? I remember being a girl. A French girl," Nick said.

"And I remember being a cop," Alice said. "Do you think someone's using the stone?"

"I don't know what else it could be. But I know one thing," he said.

"What?"

"What Clark said about me being a girl named Nicole was totally right."
