Zoe waited in their shared bedroom for nearly ten minutes, before she decided that maybe something was keeping her "new" twin sister from getting home. So, she left the room and went downstairs to wait in the living room. At least then, she could watch some TV.
As she waited, Mikey sneaked past her, thinking that she didn't see her.
"Mikey? Where are you going?" Zoe asked, seeing her little brother grabbing for the front door doorknob.
"I'm just going out," he said, annoyed.
Zoe never really got a good look at the "new" Mikey until now. He looked very similar to what she looked like when she was the original Mikey. But this Mikey was dressed all in black, his hair was spiky black, and he even wore black leather boots, with what appeared to be 3-inch stacks. And was that a piercing in his nose?
Is that what I would have looked like if I was a Goth? Zoe thought, picturing herself as her original young boy self, only as a Goth.
"Do Mom and Dad know?" Zoe asked.
"No. Who the fuck cares if they do?"
The language startled Zoe. She was about to tell him to watch what he says, but he was already on his way out.
After another ten or so minutes, Gina and Karyn walked in.
"Where were you?" Zoe asked.
"The mall," Gina answered. "Where were you? We made plans to go after school, remember?"
