'That was a bit too close.' Mikey thought, 'For a moment, I thought Jon, no Janet was going to demand the stone back. I can't let that happen.'
'I know, I'll wish that Jon would forget about the rock.' Mikey thought. He then said, "I wish Jon would forget about the wishing rock."
In the kitchen Janet was fixing dinner and was wondering what his brother had done to him. 'He must have my wishing rock.' Janet thought, 'But how do I get it back?'
While Janet finished fixing dinner, he thought about what he could do to get the wishing rock back, but he didn't come up with a workable idea.
"I am home." Janet's and Mikey's mother announced as she entered the kitchen. "Something smells good."
"Thanks, Mom." Janet said. "It is just a chicken dish I saw in one of our magazines."
"It does smell good. You look cute in that outfit. It goes well with your coloring. Is it new?"
"Yes." Janet said. "I just got it."
Janet briefly wondered when and where he had just got the new outfit, but then the kitchen timer went off and he had to get back to finishing dinner.
"I'll change and get Mikey to come down and set the table." Janet's mother said.
'Like that will happen.' Janet thought.
"I wish that Janet would fill out up top. I know she has got to be concerned as the other girls have needed their bras for years and she doesn't need to wear one yet.' Janet' mother thought as she entered Mikey's room.
"Mikey. Stop and have your game, now. And go help your sister by sitting the table."
While Mikey thought some unkind thoughts about having to stop his game, they were quickly overshadowed by the fact that his mother had just called Jon, his sister. 'Kewl.'
As Mikey rushed out of his room his mother went over to close the curtains. As she headed back toward the door, she saw a rock laying on the floor. She picked it up and headed to her bedroom to change.
