Karyn practically ran to the middle school, which was luckily fairly close by. School hadn't started yet, and there were a number of students gathered outside. Many of them looked up, surprised to see the high schooler in their midst, along with what they saw as another teenaged boy (but was actually Linda Madison).
"Karyn, what's going on?" Linda said. "We need to get to class."
"Don't worry, Jon. You'll remember in a little bit." She scanned the crowd, and spotted Mikey. Luckily, he had his back to them. Karyn began to sneak up, easing closer and closer. Soon, she was just a few feet away. Like a cat, she pounced on Mikey from behind. The stone went flying and landed at Linda's feet. She picked it up and looked at it.
"What's this? Looks kind of weird."
Mikey had lashed back at Karyn, swinging wildly. Karyn had a bit of a height advantage, and pushed him to the ground. Karyn ran over to Jon and took the rock.
"I wish Mikey was unable to take the rock from me!"
Mikey stood up and just stared angrily at her. He knew it would be no use to go for the stone.
"Tell me what you wished with the stone, Mikey."
"No way." he replied. "I was just having fun."
"We'll see about that. I wish I knew what wishes Mikey made with this rock."
Karyn's eyes went wide, and she looked over at Linda.
