The man watched as the wafer as it disintegrated in his hand crumbling to dust. The biggest downfall to its power. He only had a few left and if he was forced to use them to soon he wouldn't be able to keep running for long. He decided to head the way the guard had come figuring if he was lucky he could avoid the sweeping line they had set for him and make it back to the road. As he ran he thought about how his life had been turned around.

He was a 29 year old Computer programmer by the name of Samuel Travers. He grew up in Chicago Illinois with a middle class family. He always loved computers so when he went to college there was little surprise that he choose to write programs. The particular program he had been working on was an Avatar creator that was to be more sophisticated than any on the market. It was so detailed that it seemed real, and the best part was that it used a picture to make an accurate 3D image. The only problem was that I could not find the hardware to support his program. He had tried everything but then he got that rock. He had never seen anything like it and on a prayer turned it into a chip for his Laptop. To his amazement it worked! All to well, it altered the program allowing images of people that it didn't have pictures of. Whats more is that when you altered the picture the changes saved changed reality itself. It was a miracle.

I saw the potential but also risk. Something this strong could be used for terrible things. One man could turn a group of untrained militia into an elite fighting force. He had only trusted one person with his secret but he was wrong. that same Man betrayed his secret and told the orginization that was currently chasing him. He didn't know who they were but he knew that they had a private military force at their disposal and they didn't want him dead, yet. Why? Well its because they think I'm more prepared than I really am. They figure that there is a program that I have installed that will destroy the chip if I don't deactivate it. Needless to say that that assumption has kept me alive this long.

How long have I been on the run? Well going on a 2 days now. I know you probly thought I was a pro but I'm realitivly new to this. All I have to go off are the Movies and what I've learned so far which isn't much. 2 days and I've already burnt through 3/4 of my stash of wafers. I need to lose these guys and stay lost for a long time. After a lot of debate I see that there is only one option for now though I don't like it. The first step is to get to down to St. Louis from Chicago which is easier said than done. Two days and I've only made it outside of Springfield, I think.

I Got lucky and made it to a hotel. The Cashier looks suspicious considering that I'm still wet from hiding but I just tell her that my car broke down and got wet from falling in a puddle while seeing what is wrong. She's hesitant but after I pay in cash for a nights stay and internet access she gives me a key. Its one of those motels where every room opens to the road which will help me in need of escape though I have a plan for that. Picking up a wafer I say "I wish this room would remain undisturbed until I leave." This may seem to be to much for the rock but previous experience taught me that it only last for a day at max anyway, but atleast tonight I will be safe. I get my laptop and get ready to set up the first step of my plan.
