All of a sudden things blurred again and she was back in Jon’s house. Erasing Jon’s mother had created a paradox, without her, there was no Jon, and without Jon there was no one to wish up or use the device, so by erasing Jon’s mother, the device also erased itself from existence. Consequently it couldn’t erase Jon’s mother, thereby erasing Jon, so Karyn was back where she’d been before the erasing happened.
