Scott, the original and now a newborn baby again, wasn't sure exactly what was going on. He could tell that something was wrong with his baby (who was the one that had recently given birth to him) but wasn't able to really figure out what the problem was from the little he could see.

He knew that his former baby had been take to the hospital and never come back.

The next several days were fairly boring for Scott. They consisted entirely of being fed, burped and having his diapers changed. On the third day after being born, something interesting finally happened:

Scott was laying in his new crib. He knew he needed his diaper changed because he'd felt himself wet the one he was currently wearing. He began crying in order to attract his mother's attention and, of course, it work. She came in and took off his old diaper, putting it in the trash. Scott saw her reach for a new diaper and then pause.

"Alan?" Scott heard his mother call across the house.

"Yes?" Scott's dad asked poking his head around the door.

"You bought the wrong diapers. These are for a girl." Scott's mom said.

"Really? Damn. I guess I wasn't paying attention when I went to the store. I haven't really had a lot of practice buying diapers recently after all."

"It's okay honey, I'm not mad at you. Actually seeing these got me thinking: maybe we should use the medallion again."

"How did diaper get you thinking about that?" Scott's dad asked.

"Well, if Scott ever comes back it would be a little weird if the new baby started growing up to look identical to him. Maybe we should use you mistake as an opportunity."

"You want to turn him into a girl?"

"Why not? We haven't finished filing all of the paperwork to get him a birth certificate or social security card. If we're going to do this, we've got a very limited window of opportunity."

"I don't know," Scott's dad said rubbing his chin, "it doesn't really seem right for us to change his sex against his will."

"It's not really against his will though is it? He isn't old enough to know the difference yet anyway. Besides, nobody has a say in what sex they are born."

"It still seems like a bad idea."

"Please? I've always wondered what it would be like to have a daughter and with Scott gone, we are going to have to raise her after all."

"Her? You've already made up your mind haven't you?"

"Not entirely."

"If that's what you really want," Scott's dad said as he moved close to his wife and kissed her, "we can change him... er, her."

Scott watched his dad leave the room and return shortly with the medallion. He tried to protest, but the complete lack of verbal skills and motor control made his protests useless.

He felt his head lifted and the medallion's chain put around his neck. Scott watched with dread as the girl's diaper was touched to the medallion. He felt a spark and the tingle the signaled that a change was beginning.

Scott couldn't lift his head to watch the changes that passed over his body. There was really very little to see. The only change that was clearly visible to his onlooking parent's was the change happening between his legs.

Scott felt the somewhat familiar feeling of his penis shrinking and his testicles moving within his body. He felt his scrotum splitting in labia and a vagina forming. The change was over fairly quickly because so little had to be changed.

Scott began to cry. Not only had he been reduced to a newborn who was going to have to grow up again, but now he was going to have to grow up as a girl.

"She needs a new name." Said Scott's dad.

"How about Joy? Because that is what she is going to bring us."
